Today at Clark Meadows, Katherine McGrath lead the Music History series with a new topic.  Great Concuctors, such as Marin Alsop, Lorin Verncove Maazel, Herbert von Karajan, Juliette Nadia Boulanger, and Fritz Reiner were featured.  So interesting to learn about the different styles and what all those hand gestures and arm motions mean!

Bringing the joy of music!

Rocappella is a women's a cappella group from Rochester, NY.  Their mission is to "bring the joy of music to members of our community who need it most."  And that is exactly what they did recently with their concert here at Ferris Hills.  Under the direction of Maggie Symington, who started the group in 2014, these women, who have a variety of backgrounds come together to spread their joy of singing.  They perform most often at a variety of senior communities in the Rochester area, as well as the YWCA and even had an invitation to perform at a holiday party at the Naval Observatory for the then Vice-President, Joseph Biden and his guests.

From the golden oldies to gospel, showtunes, holiday, and even pop music, these ladies use their talents and our residents certainly reaped the benefits!
