Artist, Benji Carr, Visits Clark Meadows Artist, Benji Carr, Visits Clark Meadows "The Ghost of Roseland" is coming to Canandaigua Lake! KristenMeyer / Tuesday, May 21, 2024 0 5821 Local artist, Benji Carr, was on site to show his latest project to our residents. The Ghost of Roseland sculpture is his latest commissioned piece. He brought the model to show us how it will look and explained that there will be moving parts. What a thrill for our staff and residents to get this up close and personal presentation of such an exciting project. The discussion brought out a lot of reminiscing about Roseland Park. So many of our residents grew up in Canandaigua and Rosleand Park was a big part of their youth. The art reflects the history of our town and the importance that the park played. Pat Rini Rohrer, gallery owner and Art Tuppen, Canandaigua local, were two of our enthusiastic audience participants. They are photographed here with the artist. Read more

Lynne Standish / Tuesday, February 8, 2022 / Categories: Ferris Hills Events, Ferris Hills Blog "Reading is to the mind, like exercise is to the body." A number of Ferris Hills residents have been working hard to reorganize their library. They are sorting through books, and donating those that haven't been checked out in many years. New books have arrived and are organized by fiction, non-fiction, poetry, etc. There is a special section for magazines, and also paperback books. These worker bees noticed that some of the book shelves were in need of extra support. All they had to do is call on the Ferris Hills woodshop for the remedy! Measurements were taken and shelf support dividers were made to resolve the issue! Thanks to a kind donation, we even have (5) Kindles available to rent! Stop by soon and check out the many positive changes in the library. Don't forget to thank the library ladies for their hard work!
