Weird Food Pairings?!

Wine, fruit, juice, ice cream! YUM!

So, I'm telling tails out of school.  Our residents often get chatting in the living room about ideas for our socials.  One of our residents thought it might be fun to do unusual food pairings.  They didn't expect us to actually follow through.  When our Program Manager came into the living room with a bag of Baby Ruth Bars and a squeeze bottle of mustard they were astounded!  I came on the scene late wondering what they were all laughing about.  Everyone was giving it a go and enjoying the strange combination of sweet and spicy.  That was just the beginning.  Our Nurse Coordinator said, "game on" and she proposed the following week that we try pickle and peanut butter sandwiches!  The next week our Case Manager suggested doritos and ice cream!  Today, before our happy hour Melissa served up ice cream with wine and fruit!  Rave reviews all around the room!

Elf Day!

Elf Day!

Just another day at Clark Meadows in Canandaigua, NY!

The day started with a meeting of my peers all in elf costumes. Rebecca Wallace, Case Manager is featured sitting at her desk.  Also, Jennifer Army, Program Director, posing by our Living Room tree.   Julie Davis is passing medication in elf attire and a few residents joined in the fun. One of our residents even offered to lend me her socks!  Today, we wrapped presents for our military family that we sponsor every year.  Jody was the elf in charge! Many of our residents pitched in to wrap presents and join in the elf merriment.  The spirit of the holidays resonated throughout the halls.  We are ending the day with a performance by Ferris Hills resident, Dick Johnson, on the piano.  As he plays, there is a crochet lesson going on.  Dinner is being prepped and plated.  The wait staff will bring the plates out for the residents to take a look before heading into the dining room.    A very good day, indeed.
