Where's the Beef? Where's the Beef? For the answer, look no further than Ferris Hills at West Lake in Canandaigua, NY KristenMeyer / Monday, March 4, 2024 0 11472 The 10th Annual Chef & Sip Challenge was held yesterday at the Hotel Canandaigua. It was presented by the Canandaigua Kiwanis Club. Our Chefs, Daniel Cobb and Julie Woloson offered up Yankee Pot Roast and Mashed Potatoes garnished with puff pastry/carmalized onion & chive. It was a feast for the senses and they came home with the prize of Most Creative! Congratulations to these talented chefs! Lots of familiar faces in the photos. You will see some of our wait staff, Matt Pelton and Kaylee White, out enjoying the day along with retired Executive Director, Aimee Ward. The venue was beautiful, the competition was fierce, but there was great camaraderie among the many talented chefs. There is so much talent in this region of the Finger Lakes and we are fortunate to have some of that talent right here at Ferris Hills and Clark Meadows. Read more

The Centerpieces are just Beautiful! The Centerpieces are just Beautiful! Ferris Hills Holiday Dinners have tablescapes this year that are extra special. KristenMeyer / Tuesday, December 12, 2023 0 10001 In these pictures you can see a flurry of activity in Rayburn Hall as we prepared for our annual Holiday Dinner Extravaganza. The centerpieces were made from foraging in the woods. Residents got together and did all the arranging. The invitations were sent out, our chefs were busy planning and preparing, and the staff helped arrange and set the tables. The parties have begun. Each floor has their own private dinner in the great hall. It is an opportunity to give thanks and to spend time with neighbors and friends. Read more

KristenMeyer / Wednesday, August 31, 2022 / Categories: Ferris Hills Events, Senior Living Community Events, Ferris Hills Blog A Scenic Excursion to The Finger Lakes Boating Museum Antique Boats, a beautiful day, South end of Keuka Lake, and Ice Cream!! I caught this crew as they returned from an excursion to the Finger Lakes Boating Museum on the South end of Keuka Lake just outside of the village of Hammondsport. As they got off the bus I heard "so interesting" and "we learned so much" and "what a beautiful scenic tour!" Patti Schultz, tour guide and bus driver, said to me, "you have got to go!" The museum is filled with beautiful antique boats and murals. The collection of boats are all tied to the Finger Lakes Region and it's located in the historic Taylor Wine Company's main building. After spending time in the museum, the crew boarded the bus for a drive back by way of Mitchellsville and Prattsburgh (Patti is great at finding the most beautiful routes on our excursions). They stopped in Naples for ice cream/lunch at Lynny Lou's. Then, they continued the scenic drive home going on the High Road on 64, then State Route 21, and home to Ferris Hills. A great day spent in the Finger Lakes Region!
