It was a beautiful evening, August 11th, for FunDay Friday as residents of Ferris Hills and Clark Meadows enjoyed a solo serenade by one of the Elderly Brothers, and Ferris Resident, Gabe Cinquegrana.  The music, all familiar to the 35+ people in attendance, lasted for 1 hour and brought back many memories.

One of our residents, Gabe, is in the band!  Gabe and his wife, Deb, moved into Ferris Hill this year and they hit the ground running.  Both Deb and Gabe were already active volunteers in the community working tirelessly at the VA, Kiwanis, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and more.  Here, we are all enjoying the musical performane with lunch as an added treat.

"BEST TASTE" Award goes to Ferris Hills and Clark Meadows!

For the win... Chefs, Tony Cafarelli and Jamison Leigh, served up Porchetta with salsa verde and pickled red onion.  Our chefs worked hard preparing and presenting their creation.  They enjoyed the fun competition with other respected chefs in the community.   The foodies came out to enjoy this amazing event hosted by Canandaigua Kiwanis.  Canandaigua Kiwanis is an active group of dedicated volunteers working tirelessly throughout the year raising money to support children.

Rayburn Hall is Open!

Rayburn Hall is Open!

The beautiful Rayburn Hall is now open!

Eric Holmquist, architect from SWBR designed the perfect space and the built in bar is already a big hit!  Cathy Dobrowal picked out carpet, wall paper &
paint colors to give a light and airy feel.

Willie Norton, project manager from Pike, was wonderful to work with.  Every day he patiently answered questions, listened to concerns and found a way to make it all work.

20 years ago, the Rayburns and the Sands came together and worked at getting their vision built for a Senior Community for Canandaigua.  Living here for many years, Bill Rayburn recognized the need to continue to invest in his community as he wanted to be sure that Ferris Hills stayed vibrant for his friends, family and others who wanted to stay in the Finger Lakes for years to come.

Bill & Peg Rayburn left Senior Communities $1,000,000 to achieve the goal of a place where we can all come together to enjoy music, lectures and most of all, each other’s friendships.
